November
It's day three of the flu like plague that has turned me into an incubator for the strange and exotic bacteria that are growing and breeding inside my respiratory system just waiting until they are large enough to burst free through my sinuses and unleash terror on the greater Atlanta area.
So instead of laying on the couch feeling sorry for myself and eating cereal out of the box, I figured I would update the blog. However, feeling like I've been repeatedly punched in the face means I'm also feeling a little lazy, so instead of an in depth and hilarious recounting of this months events, heres a list of stuff that happened:
And that about brings us up to today, it was supposed to snow this morning. but it didn't.
And on next months agenda, The Little Tree Holiday Show and Art Sale! more on that later. in the meantime heres a picture of Daisy:

However, feeling like I've been repeatedly punched in the face means I'm also feeling a little lazy, so instead of an in depth and hilarious recounting of this months events, heres a list of stuff that happened:
- The AEBA meeting- food and wine and business people talking about businessy stuff
- We got a new fish- her/his name is Daisy
- Studio baby got bigger and discovered new and exciting shrieking noises
- I had an article about my nonsense in the Decatur/Avondale Patch
- Thanksgiving
- Robert turned 30+ (I'm not actually sure 30what, most days I forget how old I am) anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT!
- I contracted the plague, possibly bird flu or some sort of zombie virus.
And that about brings us up to today, it was supposed to snow this morning. but it didn't.
And on next months agenda, The Little Tree Holiday Show and Art Sale! more on that later. in the meantime heres a picture of Daisy:

Halloween!
Yup! its Halloween again and we are doing our annual-because this is the second time we've done it now- Halloween craft extravaganza! painting pumpkins and making monsters! I am excited about the prospect of getting covered in glue and googley eyes! (you can tell how excited I am by my shameless overuse of exclamation points!!!!!
October 22nd! Saturday! 2-5pm!!
Yay!!!
....also dont forget about the Yard Sale tomorrow from 8am-1pm.

Yard sale this saturday!!!!
Slightly misleading as we don't actually have a yard here. What we do have is a large parking lot, which will be filled with all our old junk loads of awesome stuff! But if you are not interested in computer stuff, pet supplies, possibly some vintage, yellow vinyl covered patio furniture, or the many other exciting yard sale type finds, then there is probably something wrong with you - I mean, really who doesn't like rifling through other people's old stuff? but incase you are not curious about what we dug out of the attic space last Thursday, the studio will be open for your perusal. so come and peruse!
Saturday the 8th, (this weekend) 8am-1pm!

nothing's ever where you left it.
The show is basically all set up. Art hung. floor covered in stuff. The studio is mostly all clean and tidy. Wine is bought. Food is waiting to be picked up. The beer is lovely and warm on the counter (might want to fix that last one).
but in other news here are some photos of things from this week:

TWIT TWEET TW*T I feel dirty!
Today I logged onto the studio tw*tter account in order to tweet about the show this weekend (it was scary and strange and I do not approve at all). We have the crappest twitter presence in the world, we've had a twitter account for a full year now (since we moved into the new studio space)... and so far made seven whole posts (or tweets?).
Twitter makes me feel dirty. I am responsible for one of the seven original posts and I think it was 5 words long and about glitter... we have less than 10 followers and were following ONE person... my boyfriend.
We are failures in the twitterverse... I'm actually ok with this, however as it seems to be a decent marketing tool, it's time I put away my aversion to the hashtag and tw*t along with everyone else.
So on top of blogging more studio-blogginess... I am also resolving to ...tweet... more.

Love, Dreams and Other Impossible Things
So it's been about 6 months since our last post, this is not because we were in a collective coma, or being held captive by the family of angry sparrows nesting in the rafters of the music studio, or even due to a bout of amnesia resulting from an alien encounter... Nope, we've just been busy.
Julia and Robert now have a baby, his name is StudioBaby and he is our new mascot!...
Dexter (the stone crab) ate Jeremy (the blue crab) in a sort of Hannibal Lecteresque display of wits and morbid appetite...
The studio has been shuffled and reshuffled, walls have been built and they are awesome and their awesomeness ought to basked in...
The Friday Morning drawing group has earned itself a nickname, no I will not tell you what it is. :)
And yes, we have acquired even more fishtanks! we are now YayStudio, Gallery AND Aquarium, almost as impressive as the Georgia Aquarium but slightly smaller and considerably cheaper.
The Revive Show was marvelous, thanks to everyone who came out and participated.
And now we are getting ready for our next show, Love, Dreams and Other Impossible Things, opening on September 17th at 7pm. The show features installations and photographic self portraits by Athens based emerging artist Fiona Nolan. Fiona's work is both playful and emotive as she converts the space to allow the viewer to literally step into her imagination.
We have sponsorship from The Beer Growler, Sweet-n-Sinful and Pine Street Market- So I'm excited, StudioBaby is excited! Dexter is looking forward to eating meeting new people. So its really in everyone's best interest to show up and enjoy themselves.
Also, I promise to be better about the blog now that the coma inducing, alien sparrows from a few doors down have moved out and left us alone to blog in peace.

To everyone who missed coming out to RAD yesterday, it was awesome and you should be sad that you missed it. To everyone that did come out...Thanks and it was awesome!!!! Our studio, complete with hand painted sign by Leah, was all clean and spangly and filled with Art! And somehow it is still clean and spangly today....we shall see if it stays this way until next weekend for the Paper Moon launch party!

Studio crabs!
Robert set up the salt water tank in the studio and today we put things in it! two crabs and a blenny, Leonard... eventually we will fill the tank with fish so that there is no room for water...only fish! bwahahahahaha! and the studio will become FishStudio! and the fish will take over the world! but for now it's just Leonard and his crabby companions.
We actually have a second, smaller tank that lives in the bathroom, home to Jeremy. Jeremy is the larger of the crabs who has been put in time out for eating the rest of the fish that would have joined Leonard and the two smaller crabs had they not been eaten alive by Jeremy. In a few months Jeremy, who has made the mistake of being a delicious blue crab, will be large enough that we can cook him and eat him, and we'll just see how much he likes that.

Moving Day!
Well, technically moving day happened mid December, but mid January seemed like as good a time as any to catch up on blog posting. Also the entire city is shut down due to the two inches of snow that fell last week which has now turned into two inches of ice covering everything in the city making it impossible to go anywhere....so blogging! and now moving pictures:
This is the Gallery:
This is what we did to it:
This is where the picture showing it all nice and tidied up and in use should be:
yeah, didn't take that photo.
:)
Anyway, believe it or not we now have a permanent photography cyc, a seating area, a teaching area and three individual work areas... and before the snow hit, turned to ice and the world ended, I actually put up shelves a light and a picture frame:
Happy New Year!
